Hummingbird Video

There have been a bunch of hummingbirds buzzing around the porch over the last couple of weeks. I’ve shot some photos, and I’ve been trying some video too.

Shooting hummingbird video is not the easiest⁠— this is shot at 1/640th at f/8 at 4000iso at 59.94fps with a 250mm lens on my Canon 80d (calculated the depth of field is a bit under 3/8″).

As you might imagine, I had a pretty noisy video, I had to learn how to use AfterEffects to remove the noise from the video.

On the left is the unedited video, center the video is color corrected and has some slight noise removal applied, and the right is full noise removal.

I’m going to keep a better log of projects here. Longer term, I’m going to work through documenting old projects.
